Brain Imaging and Brain Biology of Children with Reading Disability (Dyslexia)

Study description:

This study will use brain imaging data from siblings of discordant (differing) reading ability to create a model for future studies to test treatments for dyslexia. Eligible families will come to SickKids for two days of study participation (one day per child), involving the following: IQ and Reading assessments MEG and MRI brain scans Parent Questionnaires Blood sample from children and parents who qualify

Benefits to participating:

There are no direct benefits to participating.

Families will receive a detailed research report of their children's psycho-educational assessments, which may be useful for educational planning.
